SUMMARY:New concepts and approaches for resilient and green freight transport and logistics networks against disruptive events (11 January 2024)
DESCRIPTION:Disruptive events\, such as COVID-19 health crisis and persistent conflicts\, have laid bare the vulnerabilities inherent in supply chains and traditional freight transport systems. \nThe seamless movement of goods is pivotal to both trade and general welfare\, underscoring the imperative to develop solutions capable of mitigating the far-reaching repercussions of such events. \nThis webinar aims to extract valuable insights from the perspectives of two significant entities: the European Commission and the distinguished expert\, Professor Alan Mckinnon. Shedding light on this critical issue\, together with our sister project: Sustainability And Resilience for Infrastructure and Logistics networks (SARIL)\, we will expound upon their respective strategies. Moreover\, we will provide tangible demonstrations of how they plan to actively contribute to addressing the complex challenges posed by disruptions to supply chains and conventional freight transport systems. \nJoin us on 11th of January\, from 10:00 to 11:30 for a comprehensive exploration of innovative approaches and practical solutions as we delve into the strategies outlined by SARIL and ReMuNet in our collective pursuit of a more sustainable and resilient future for infrastructure and logistics networks. \n\nRegister here. \n\n\n\n\n  \n\nAgenda\n10.00 Welcome and opening \n\nALICE\n\n10.05 Challenges associated with resilience and transportation networks\, the commission’s priorities regarding them and what is expected from these projects \n\n Paola Chiarini. Policy Officer at European Commission – DG MOVE\n\n10.20 Resilient and green freight transport and logistics networks: outlook and perspectives. \n\nAlan McKinnon\, Professor of Logistics\, Kuehne Logistics University\n\n10.35 Sustainability And Resilience for Infrastructure and Logistics networks (SARIL) presentation \n\nCorinna Köpke\, Fraunhofer EMI\n\n10.50 Resilient Multimodal freight Transport Network (ReMuNet) presentation \n\nJohn von Stamm\, FIR an der RWTH Aachen\n\n11.05 SARIL and ReMuNet joint survey \n\n\nLillian Hansen\, SINTEF \n\nLars Klapper\, FIR an der RWTH Aachen\n\n11.20 Conclusion \nQ&A session and next steps
