SUMMARY:Our parter ALICE at the Senior Policy Meeting on Sustainable Freight Transport
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to share highlights from the recent Senior Policy Meeting on Sustainable Freight Transport\, where Fernando Liesa and the team from ALICE (ETP LOGISTICS)\, played a pivotal role. This event\, hosted in Antwerp\, Belgium\, was organized under the auspices of the Flemish Ministry of Mobility and Public Works as part of the Belgian Presidency of the Council 2024. \nKey Discussions and Insights\nThe meeting provided a platform for European leaders and experts to strategize towards achieving the ambitious Fit for 55 targets and beyond. ALICE’s active participation was particularly notable on the second day\, where Fernando Liesa moderated a workshop focusing on making fleets and assets more energy-efficient and leveraging low-emission energy sources. \nThe workshop fostered robust discussions on: \n\nNecessary regulatory measures\nStimulating and facilitating actions to advance sustainable freight across Europe\nIdentifying barriers and key actors\nDetermining appropriate scales for action and necessary resources\n\nThese topics reflect a deep understanding of the complexities involved in transforming freight transport and the collaborative effort required to achieve this goal. The insights shared during these discussions are invaluable for driving actionable change in the industry. \nDuring the debriefing session\, ALICE presented an overview of future strategies from their perspective\, linking to their latest position paper on Logistics Data Exchange presented at the TRA. This meeting was not just about discussions but about setting a course for actionable change. \nGratitude and Future Engagements\nWe extend our heartfelt gratitude to the organizers and all participants for their contributions to this fruitful dialogue. The valuable insights gained will undoubtedly shape future initiatives and collaborations in the sustainable freight transport sector. We look forward to continuing these essential conversations and working towards a more sustainable future for European transport. \nStay tuned for more updates and join us in our journey towards innovative and sustainable logistics solutions.
