SUMMARY:Hackathon Spotlight: GreenLogistics Hack (May 31st - June 2nd\, 2024)
DESCRIPTION:The Transport Innovation Association\, in collaboration with the EU-funded ADMIRAL Project\, is gearing up to host an International Hackathon focused on the future of freight transportation: the GreenLogistics Hack. Scheduled from May 31st to June 2nd\, 2024\, in Vilnius\, this event aims to revolutionize supply chain management by leveraging digital solutions and innovative thinking. \nThe primary challenge of the Hackathon is clear: How can we reduce CO2 emissions in logistics chains through optimization and digitalization? Teams will be tasked with delivering a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or presenting a problem solution scheme/description. \nBut participants won’t be left to navigate this challenge alone. They’ll receive guidance from seasoned mentors hailing from diverse backgrounds and possessing extensive knowledge in sustainable logistics strategies. \nExciting prizes await the winning teams: \n1st place: €2\,000\n2nd place: €1\,000\n3rd place: €500 \nFor those eager to participate\, assembling a team is the first step. Teams should consist of 2-5 members\, with a designated contact person filling out the registration form. Don’t have a team yet? No problem! You can form one at the beginning of the Hackathon or join an existing team seeking additional members. \nThe program is packed with workshops\, mentoring sessions\, and networking opportunities across the three-day event: \nMay 31st:\nPresentation of challenges and teams introduction\nInformal mentoring session\nTime for teamwork \nJune 1st:\nMarket fit discovery workshop\nMentoring sessions on transport ecosystems and sustainability\nPrototyping workshop \nJune 2nd:\nPitching workshop\nFinal team pitch session\nDecision on winners and announcement \nWhether you’re a seasoned developer\, a logistics expert\, or simply passionate about sustainability\, the GreenLogistics Hack offers a unique platform to make a tangible impact on the future of freight transportation. Join us in Vilnius for three days of innovation\, collaboration\, and transformative ideas!

Hosted by the Hanken School of Economics\, the event was a perfect blend of productive sessions\, insightful presentations\, and engaging activities. \nDay 1 Highlights\nThe first day was marked by significant project updates and interactive workshops. FIR an der RWTH Aachen\, UIRR\, and Hanken shared updates from WP1\, discussing their work on developing a European multimodal transport ontology and classifying disruptive events. This session provided key insights into enhancing transport resilience. \nPTV Group presented on the reference model and simulation framework under WP2\, leading a dynamic workshop on the duration\, impact\, and recovery cycle of disruptions. This workshop sparked lively discussions and generated innovative ideas to improve our understanding of transport disruptions. \nFHA provided a status update on WP4\, exploring reinforcement learning with practical example scenarios. Their presentation showcased cutting-edge advancements in transport technology and demonstrated the potential for future applications. \nDay 2 Highlights\nThe second day focused on communication strategies and piloting new transport methods. White Research delivered comprehensive updates on our communication and dissemination strategies. They led a session on innovation management and exploitation planning\, outlining future steps for maximizing our project’s impact. \nVediafi Oy introduced WP5\, discussing the piloting of event-based multimodal relay transport in the North Sea – Baltic and Rhine – Danube corridors. This presentation highlighted the potential for transformative changes in European transport. \nFIR conducted a WP3 workshop focused on developing a common understanding of the current ecosystem. This collaborative session allowed partners to ideate on the future ReMuNet platform\, contributing by assigning relevant actors to the corridors in the actual ecosystem. \nA heartfelt thank you to all partners for their invaluable contributions\, and a special mention to Hanken for organizing such a successful and enjoyable event! Together\, we are making significant strides in enhancing the resilience and efficiency of European transport networks. \nStay tuned for more updates and join us on this exciting journey! \n\nFor more information and continuous updates\, follow our official channels and join the conversation. SUMMARY:Successful EU ReMuNet Project Meeting Hosted by Hafen Wien GmbH and thinkport VIENNA
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to announce that Hafen Wien GmbH and thinkport VIENNA – smart urban logistics had the pleasure of hosting the recent EU ReMuNet Project meeting. \nThe ReMuNet Project is dedicated to enhancing the resilience of transport networks by leveraging software services and integrating various networks. During our productive discussions with experts from the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology\, viadonau\, WienCont GmbH\, and the Zentralverband Spedition & Logistik\, we delved into how disruptive events impact traffic flows within the multimodal transport network. These scenarios are simulated within the ReMuNet project to effectively mitigate such events and efficiently reroute transport flows. We are excited to build on the valuable insights gained during this meeting in the coming months. The collaborative efforts and expertise shared have set a strong foundation for the continued success of the ReMuNet Project. We extend our heartfelt thanks to our experts Bettina Matzner\, Juergen Zajicek\, and Oliver Wagner\, as well as our colleagues Robert Mladik and Michael Nakovitz from WienCont GmbH\, for their significant contributions and expertise on this crucial topic. Your input is invaluable to the progress of our project. \nStay tuned for more updates as we continue to advance the resilience and efficiency of European transport networks.
