In a world where disruptions—from pandemics to climate crises—challenge supply chains, resilience and sustainability are more critical than ever. The SARIL and ReMuNet projects are tackling these challenges from different angles, but with a shared goal: a stronger, greener, and more adaptive freight transport system.
- SARIL is developing quantitative resilience assessments to measure how transport networks can withstand disruptions while minimising environmental impact. By modelling different crisis scenarios, SARIL provides data-driven insights to help decision-makers improve logistics performance under pressure.
- ReMuNet is creating a dynamic, multimodal logistics network, fostering real-time data-sharing between supply chain actors. By integrating the Physical Internet approach and CO2 monitoring, ReMuNet enables smarter transport choices, ensuring efficiency and sustainability in freight movements.
Though distinct, these projects complement each other—SARIL’s scenario modelling can refine ReMuNet’s algorithms, while ReMuNet’s data insights can enhance SARIL’s resilience strategies. Their combined impact strengthens Europe’s path towards a more sustainable and future-proof logistics sector.
